For the first time in nearly 2,000 years, Israel now has a trained High Priest, sacred garments, and priestly vessels—all ready for the Third Temple.

Many believe this marks the unfolding of the prophet Daniel’s end-time vision, as ancient prophecies seem to come alive in our generation. As Passover approaches, Jewish extremist groups have pledged to take over the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, under the protection of Israeli security forces.

Palestinians and the Jordanian Islamic Trust, which manages the site, view this as a violation of the status quo. Plans are underway to slaughter five red heifers, an act believed by some Jews to fulfill a divine commandment and pave the way for building the Third Temple, replacing the Dome of the Rock.

For over two millennia, the Jewish people have lived without a high priest, daily sacrifices, or a functioning temple in Jerusalem. Today, however, this ancient silence is breaking.

The Temple Institute in Jerusalem has spent years preparing everything needed for the Third Temple. The ancient garments of the high priest have been remade, the sacred vessels prepared, and the red heifer bred for ritual purification.

THE HIGH PRIEST OF ISRAEL IS READY... THE PROPHECY OF DANIEL HAS BEGUN

Rabbi Baruk Kahane has been designated as the candidate for high priest, having studied the ancient priestly laws in depth and preparing to carry out the rituals exactly as prescribed in the Torah. The altar is constructed, the ashes of the red heifer are being prepared, and everything is ready for the Temple’s return.

This is not just a symbolic act, but a prophetic fulfillment. In Exodus 28, God commanded Moses to create special garments for Aaron, the first high priest.

These garments included the breastplate with twelve stones representing the tribes of Israel, the ephod, the robe, and the turban with the golden plate inscribed “Holiness to the Lord.” For generations, these garments were worn by men chosen to intercede between God and the people of Israel. When the Second Temple was destroyed in 70 AD, the role of the high priest disappeared. Since then, there has been no temple, no sacrifices, and no Day of Atonement performed according to ancient laws.

To understand why this matters, we must look at the book of Daniel, one of the most powerful prophetic books in the Bible. Daniel chapter 9 describes the “70 weeks” prophecy, a countdown to the end of sin and the arrival of everlasting righteousness.

Later, Daniel speaks of a time when the daily sacrifice will be taken away. For nearly 2,000 years, this part of the prophecy could not be fulfilled because there was no sacrifice to stop.

Now, with a high priest ready and preparations for daily offerings in motion, Daniel’s words take on new meaning. Many Bible scholars believe that this verse refers to the rise of a future world leader—the Antichrist—who will make a seven-year peace agreement with Israel, then break it halfway through by stopping the sacrifices and desecrating the temple.

If this interpretation is correct, the reestablishment of the priesthood and the possibility of daily sacrifices are not just religious milestones; they are prophetic countdown markers.

Currently, the only missing piece is the temple itself. The priesthood is ready, the garments and utensils are ready, and even the land where the temple once stood—the Temple Mount—is the focus of intense debate and international attention.

Many Jews believe the temple must stand where the Dome of the Rock now sits, making its rebuilding not only a religious challenge but a political and global issue.

Despite this, calls for the rebuilding of the temple are growing, especially among younger generations. Temple groups are gaining followers, marches in Jerusalem carry banners demanding, “Bring the temple now,” and Israeli media is discussing the possibility more openly.

For Christians, the rebuilding of the temple is not a reason to fear, but to stay alert and watchful. Jesus warned us to be aware of the signs of the times, referencing Daniel’s prophecy and the abomination of desolation that will stand in the holy place. With the high priest ready and preparations underway, that future no longer feels distant.

This reminds believers of Jesus’s central role as the eternal High Priest, whose sacrifice ended the need for animal offerings and opened the way for reconciliation with God.

With each passing day, prophecy unfolds. The high priest is no longer just a historical figure; he is standing, breathing, and preparing to serve in the temple of God. When the temple rises again in Jerusalem, the final pages of the Bible will begin to turn before our eyes.

We must be awake and ready—not with fear, but with faith. Jesus told us that these things would come to pass, not to scare us, but to prepare us. When these things begin to happen, look up and lift your heads, for your redemption draws near. The clock is ticking, and we are living on the edge of eternity.
